Updates to Process for SPHO-NJ Membership Registration, Horse Nominations, and Fees

The Standardbred Pleasure Horse Organization of New Jersey is excited to share the new SPHONJ.org, which allows for a more modernized method for communication, memberships, horse nominations, and sponsorships. Going forward, all memberships, horse/exhibitor registration forms, and points submissions will be submitted and paid for online. Any paper forms that have been sent in already will be honored. Please review changes to each of the processes below.

Memberships
All new and renewing memberships will be processed online from SPHONJ.org. Join or renew your membership at SPHONJ.org under Membership & Awards —> Membership Application. Please remember that after the desired memberships/horse nominations are added to your cart, you must check out and pay online for it to process. Starting with the 2023 competition year, memberships will be $40 for an individual, $50 for a family, and $50 for a business.

Annual Horse/Exhibitor Registration
All annual Horse/Exhibitor Registrations will be processed online from SPHONJ.org. To be eligible for year-end awards, after joining or renewing your membership, submit your annual Horse/Exhibitor Registration at SPHONJ.org under Membership & Awards —> Horse/Exhibitor Registration. Please remember that after the desired memberships/horse nominations are added to your cart, you must check out and pay online for it to process. Starting with the 2023 competition year, annual horse/exhibitor registrations will be $40.

Competition Points Submissions
All points submissions, including for competitions and pleasure ride/drives, will be processed online. Current members with a current horse/exhibitor registration should submit their competition placings and pleasure ride/drive hours under Membership & Awards —> Competition Points Submission within 30 days of completion of a competition or pleasure ride/drive.

As a reminder, to be eligible for year-end awards, you must:

  • Be a current SPHO-NJ member

  • Submit an Annual Horse/Exhibitor Registration. There is a $40 fee per horse and rider/driver combination per year, payable upon submission of the registration form

  • Within 30 days of completion of a competition or pleasure ride/drive, submit the corresponding points submission form online.


Understanding that there is a learning curve to any new system, we ask that you bear with us as we work out any kinks, and are pleased to offer a migration to online purchasing for all SPHO-NJ transactions.
